President Mubarak together with Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa A`al Thany the Emir of Qatar held extensive talks covering developments of the Middle East situation, coordination among Arab countries to achieve a unified position towards the current international circumstances in addition to the bilateral relations.

In an international celebration, President Mubarak inaugurated a development project of Abu Simbel temples in Upper Egypt. Ministry of Culture in cooperation with UNISCO started the L.E 8 million costing project six years ago.

President Mubarak received special envoys to the region General Anthony Zinni and Assistant Secretary Bill Burns at the Peace Palace at Heliopolis. The meeting came in the framework of Mubarak’s intensified efforts to contain the deteriorating situation among the Palestinians and Israelis.

President Mubarak and King Abdullah II of Jordan held a session of intensive talks during which they probed all potential efforts for avoiding deterioration of the security situation between Palestinians and Israelis following the outbreak of violence acts and blasts in Jerusalem, Haifa and Gaza the wake of acts of violence between Israelis and Palestinians which is pushing the region towards the verge of danger.
