President Mubarak stressed the importance of seizing the current situation to prepare for
the implementation of Mitchells recommendations. Mubarak also indicated that the
only alternative in case of failure to accelerate the necessary steps would be terrorism.
In regard to the bilateral relations, Mubarak clarified that he concluded an agreement
with his Chinese counterpart Jiang Zimin for a strategic partnership, which will help
enhancing the cooperation between both countries on the short and long term.
