Sept 30th , 2000

President Mubarak received Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat  The talks tackle the peace crisis, the results of Washington negotiations and Israeli provocation in Jerusalem.


Sept 27th , 2000

President Mubarak received Dr. Boutros Ghali, General Secretary of the Francophone Organization. Ghali, after the meeting, extended appreciation to President Mubarak who delegated a representative to attend the Francophone Conference held recently in Alexandria.


Sept 26th , 2000

President Mubarak received an invitation from his Bulgarian counterpart Petar Stoyanov to pay an official visit to Sofia. The invitation was delivered by the Bulgarian PM Ivan Kostav.


Sept 25th , 2000

President Mubarak received a delegation of the US- based Israeli Policies Forum aiming to express backup and appreciation to the Egyptian vital role in the peace process.

President Mubarak received acting Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben Ami. This meeting came within the efforts geared towards overcoming the deadlock in the Palestinian/ Israeli negotiations. Both dignitaries reviewed during the one hour meeting basic issued relevant to the final agreement between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, latest update of the negotiations as well as the bilateral relations.


Sept 20th , 2000

President Mubarak held two extended meetings; one with the Political Bureau of the National Democratic Party and the other with members of the Party’s General Secretariat. The two meetings covered preparations for the coming parliamentary electoral proceedings as well as the NDP program and plan set for the elections.


Sept 17th , 2000

President Mubarak inaugurated the national conference on social development held at Cairo International Conferences Center. Mubarak addressing the opening session asserted that challenges are increasing on both the domestic and international levels. He clarified that those challenges arise from the prevailing accelerated developments creating new concepts in different domains. Egypt, Mubarak said, in response to those changes, embarked on an ambitious economic reform program, which recognized the social dimension.

President Mubarak, received Dr. No`man Goma head of the opposition Wafd Party.

President Mubarak, after the inauguration of the national conference on social development, received as well head of the opposition Nasserist party Mr. Diaeddin Dawood.

President Mubarak met with head of the opposition Tagammu party Mr. Khaled Mohey El-Din and the party’s Secretary General Mr. Refaat Al Said.


Sept 13th , 2000

President Mubarak inaugurated Sidi Kreir major power station located 29 km west of Alexandria. It is the first power station that is designed and implemented, according to international standards, by an all –Egyptian engineering team.


Sept 12th , 2000

President Mubarak attended launching the initiation of the second Egyptian satellite Nilesat 102. Mubarak pushed the start signal button from the ground satellite station in Hamam area in the Egyptian northern cost.


Sept 11th , 2000

President Mubarak received Palestinian President Yasser Arafat who came to Egypt on a short visit. Arafat’s visit came in the framework of the on-going coordination among both leaders regarding the obstacles hindering the peace process on the Palestinian track.


Sept 10th , 2000

President Mubarak chaired an extended Ministerial meeting at Alexandria’s Ras Al –Tin Palace where he reviewed the final arrangements of the coming parliamentary elections. In another meeting with the office members of the National Democratic Party, Mubarak discussed the final version of the electoral chart. While in both meetings, a number of Presidential decrees aiming to secure an appropriate legal environment for the elections to take place under full supervision of the judicial body were issued.


Sept 5th , 2000

President Mubarak held a session of talks with the Bahraini Emir Sheikh Hamad Ben Eissa Al-Khalifa
in Alexandria. During the talks, both leaders looked into means for developing the bilateral political and economic relations, development on the regional and international levels as well as recent status of the peace process especially on the Palestinian track.


Sept 1 st , 2000

President Mubarak, in the framework of the Egyptian extensive efforts to retrieve the staled peace process made a visit to Paris. Mubarak together with his French counterpart Jacques Chirac held an extended session of talks exploring some proposals that are hoped to overcome the impasse of the Palestinian/ Israeli negotiations.
