Today the president’s office is located in the Suez Canal Salon which was especially prepared  for celebrating the inauguration of the Suez Canal. This salon was decorated with  3 paintings representing the digging and  inauguration of the canal. In 1975, at the re-inauguration  of the Suez Canal as an international navigation route after it has been closed in 1967, one  of these paintings was replaced by another one picturing that event.
